====== mysticd ====== **The daemon is planned; installer development is in progress.** mysticd is intended to become an independent administration service for Mystic BBS. The following service features describe the intended design, not a finished product. ===== Planned responsibilities ===== * Run as a Linux or Windows service, considering Linux ARM systems such as Raspberry Pi. * Use INI configuration and a setup dialog. * Offer protected web administration with plugin extensions. * Provide status, log analysis, notifications and monitoring metrics. * Handle incremental backups and controlled recovery. * Manage maintenance tasks, MUTIL configuration and IP2Location data. * Support optional plugins for bulletins, weather and a future Meshtastic connection. ===== Configuration ===== Known INI options should have suitable fields, switches and selection lists. Unknown files need a normal text editor. Windows GUI and Linux terminal use are both part of the plan. Mystic data formats and file locks must be understood before writing to them. An administration service must not damage a running BBS through uncontrolled changes. Existing scripts are being replaced gradually with PowerShell components for Debian and Windows. [[:en:projects:start|All projects]]
