====== DbP Relay ======

**Status: planned.** DbP Relay is intended to be a free chat project in C# and .NET 10 for Linux and Windows.

===== Goals =====

  * Implement the actual MRC protocol and test with unchanged MRC/uMRC clients.
  * Support rooms, user lists, private messages, routing and moderation.
  * Use TLS for modern connections and keep legacy connections separate.
  * Provide a shared message model and extensible connectors.
  * Start with Escargot/MSN as an important messenger connector; add further networks later.

===== Before implementation =====

Protocol sources, libraries, classes, dependencies and licences need to be examined. Initial MSNP work will use a mock server and automated tests. Server components are not necessarily a complete messenger client SDK.

Compatibility must be demonstrated by existing clients exchanging messages in integration tests. Transport encryption and end-to-end encryption are different properties.
